A Strong Start

Dr. Omar Liles and Dr. Keith Wilks Lead a Strong Start at Kingdom School of Divinity

Dr. Omar Liles and Dr. Keith Wilks have done an exceptional job guiding Kingdom School of Divinity (KSD) through its first two semesters. The courses taught—"The Kingdom of God" and "Biblical Interpretation"—have provided students with a rich theological foundation and a deeper understanding of Scripture.

The Kingdom of God course offered a broad perspective on God's reign, beginning with how His absolute sovereignty was defied by the devil and the first human pair. It then traced the inauguration of God’s reign through Jesus Christ and His incarnation. With Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension, the Kingdom of God is now being proclaimed worldwide by His Church. Ultimately, God’s reign will be consummated at the Second Coming of Jesus, when death, disease, and evil will be vanquished, the heavens and the earth will be renewed, and God will be All-in-all.

The Biblical Interpretation course emphasized the need for sound biblical interpretation and the essential tools required to carry out this great task. Students explored both the divine and human dimensions of Scripture while learning an effective method of interpretation designed to bridge the gap between the ancient biblical world and contemporary understanding.

Additionally, the course highlighted the significance of literary genres in biblical interpretation and introduced scholarly reference tools essential for understanding biblical texts accurately.

Kingdom School of Divinity has ushered in a new era for those called to ministry. Its programs, which began in the Fall 2024–2025 academic year and concluded with the Winter semester, equip future leaders to serve in their churches and beyond. The work of Dr. Liles and Dr. Wilks has set a strong foundation for the future of theological education at KSD, ensuring that students receive both academic excellence and spiritual formation.
