Exploring the Vital Role of Chaplaincy in Diverse Facilities:
On December 7th, Kingdom School of Divinity hosted an insightful panel discussion titled "Overview of Chaplaincy in Facilities: Challenges and Approaches". Held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, the event highlighted the indispensable role of chaplains across various settings, including healthcare facilities, correctional institutions, senior care homes, and other communal environments.
The panel featured distinguished leaders in pastoral care and chaplaincy:
Dr. Keith Wilks, D.Min, Founder and President of Kingdom School of Divinity
Dr. Omar Liles, D.Min, Cofounder and Vice President
Dr. Malachia Brantley, D.Min, Board Certified Chaplain
Rev. Brenda Dowdell, M.Div
Rev. Caffie Jeanette Risher, M.Div, Pastoral Care Practitioner
This discussion shed light on the unique challenges chaplains face in their ministries, including addressing emotional and spiritual needs, managing ethical dilemmas, and navigating institutional systems. Panelists also shared practical approaches for building trust, offering compassionate care, and fostering hope in these specialized environments.
Milestone Achievement: Certification by Evangel School of Urban Church Planting
We are thrilled to announce a new chapter in Kingdom School of Divinity's journey. On December 7th, Luke Laughley trained and certified, Commissioned and Licensed Dr. Omar Liles and Dr. Keith Wilks Sr. as Deans through the Evangel School of Urban Church Planting. This certification enables Kingdom School of Divinity to train and certify students and disciples in planting healthy churches within diverse communities.
This achievement not only strengthens our institution’s mission to empower leaders but also positions Kingdom School of Divinity as a certified institution for equipping ministers to make a transformative impact in the Kingdom of God.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on these milestones, Kingdom School of Divinity continues its commitment to educating and preparing leaders for service. Whether through chaplaincy, church planting, or pastoral care, we aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual depth needed to meet the needs of an ever-changing world.
