Songs in the Valley

Scripture: Psalm 34:19 (ESV) – “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”

Message:

In the darkest chapters of Black history, people still sang no matter what. They still dang not because the they endured was absent but because hope they knew refused to die. The spirituals were sermons the. prayers and through tears that shaped their theology in suffering.

These songs were acts of resistance. No matter what will transpire they had the courage to stand against Pharaoh where he would not have the last word. God still hears the cry of the oppressed. They understood that freedom seen and unseen belongs to the people of God. Despite the ordeals it, they still trusted God.

Closing Thought:

If God could deliver them, he can deliver you.
